About…

Deborah Leslie is a published prose writer, poet, newspaper columnist and public speaker from the North-East of Scotland. She has had short stories and poems published in national and local publications, written in both Scots (Doric) and English. Deborah is also the author of two children’s books and three collections of Doric writing.


She is a previous Scottish Book Trust Reader-in-Residence for Aberdeenshire and the winner of several literary prizes including the Toulmin Prize and the Robert McLellan Prize for Scots Prose.

Deborah is also an acclaimed public speaker, performing as an after-dinner speaker and MC at a range of different functions – from Burns Suppers to club audiences, from WAGs’ nights to corporate events, and from Sportsmans’ dinners to Ladies’ days.

She is represented by SpeakOut! and XSP talent agencies.
